Creator of the Week: @aphrodyuti

Meet Dyuti from @aphrodyuti, a standout beauty creator on Iris. Dyuti is a South Asian beauty content creator based in Canada who's goal is to not be the cause of insecurities in other women, and tries to be as real as possible through her content.

How would you describe yourself as a creator?

“I am a South Asian beauty content creator based in Canada. Even though I started out as a blogger as a passion, I have taken beauty content creation very seriously. While creating my contents, I always make sure to not be the cause of insecurities of other women. Which is I try to be as real as possible through my contents. Be it skincare, makeup or haircare, I try not to over glamorize anything and just post my honest opinions with no filter and talk about products from drugstore to highend. I also try to post reviews with my textured skin with flaws so that people can relate to me.”

What led you to join the beauty community?

“I have always loved playing with makeup but sometimes found hard to find likeminded people. Joining beauty community made me feel like I am not alone. Meeting people with the same kind of passion and sharing our love for beauty is what has kept me going as a blogger and now a creator for the last 8 years. There is so much I learn from my fellow beauty lovers everyday and there is no age or racw barrier in this community. I have made friends in all age group and ethnicity and learn from people in all age group and ethnicity.”

What's your favorite thing about Iris?

“I absolutely love the Iris community. I have found so many likeminded people through this app and everyone has such unique approach to beauty. I have made some friends and I have also found some very talented creators. On Iris, everyone is their 100% authentic self. Honest reviews, unique beauty routines and so many creative discussions on beauty products. So many tips and tricks and so many hidden gems were discovered all thanks to Iris. ”

What are your top three beauty products of the moment?

“A) Patrick Ta blush duo

The right kind of pigmentation and easy to build. These blushes have a very distinct finish. It has one cream blush and one powder blush. The powder blush goes on smoothly and melts on to my skin. The cream goes over powder to add some glow.

B) Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter

Absolutely love the glow it gives without emphasizing my skin texture. Even when used under foundation, the glow is not diminished. It also photographs beautifully

C) I'm From Rice Toner

My holy grail toner for my insanely dry dehydrated skin. It hydrates and moisturizes and makes my skin plump, smooth, bright and glowy from within.”

What's your favorite beauty trend of the moment?

“Right now I would definitely say its socks blowout and cold girl makeup”

Do you have a game changing beauty tip that leveled up your makeup or skincare routine?

“Weather is extremely dry in Canada. You could moisturize now and start feeling dry 10 minutes later. But I have found that layering light weight skincare products like Toners, followed my essence/serum immensely help with that. Whenever I layer 2-3 layers of a good milky toner like I'm From Rice Toner and then follow up with my usual routine, my skin stays hydrated throughout the day and night. As toners/essences are lighter, they penetrate faster and hence layering these, help with calming down dehydrated skin.

Another related tip is to keep your toner in the shower. The more you wait between cleansing and moisturizing, the dryer and dehydrated skin becomes. So to reduce the wait time, keep your toner in the shower.”
