Meet Candy, a standout beauty creator on Iris. She described herself as laid back creator, who is passionate about all things beauty, that is, all things that boost your confidence in any way. How would you describe yourself as a creator?
“I am super laid back as a creator because at the end of the day, creating content is my hobby. I am passionate about all things beauty, that is, all things that boost your confidence in any way. My content isn’t always aesthetic, but I do try to present it in an appealing way that offers honest reviews and experiences while keeping in mind that makeup, skincare, and fragrance are subjective.”
What led you to join the beauty community?
“I was inspired by other small creators on social media (Instagram to be exact). I loved hearing their thoughts and interacting with them. I felt that I found a space where I was understood and I felt that I also had something to contribute, so I wanted to connect with people that were likeminded about this topic.”
What's your favorite thing about Iris?
“Iris gives me the opportunity to share my honest thoughts on all the products I’ve tried (there are SO many) and hopefully that helps others be mindful about the things they purchase.”
What are your top three beauty products of the moment?
“Only Three? Summer Fridays Shade Drops Broad Spectrum SPF 30 Mineral Milk Sunscreen because spf is an essential part of my beauty routine and this spf is perfect for combo skin. Brows are important in my routine and the Glossier Boy Brow has really been working for my brows. I like the potent tint and waxiness that shapes my brows. Lastly, The Inkey List Tripeptide Plumping Lip Balm. I use a prep balm every morning while I do my makeup and this balm is hydrating enough to prep my lips before I go in with another lip product and it has really made them *seem* plumper over time. ”
What's something you want your followers to know about you?
“I’m almost 40 and I feel like I’m 30. There are many factors as to why I feel younger, but one of them has definitely been stepping up my skincare- spf, serums, actives that work for me. I love learning more about the best way to take care of myself. ”
What's your favorite thing about the Iris community?
“The Iris community knows their stuff! I love reading about their genuine thoughts on a wide range of products.”
What's your favorite beauty trend of the moment?
“Very happy that one and done shadows are having their moment in the spotlight because while I love playing with eyeshadow techniques, I truly feel the most confident in just a one (or two) and done shadow look.”
Do you have a game changing beauty tip that leveled up your makeup or skincare routine?
“A game changing beauty tip is definitely to wear sunscreen, but most of us in the community know this. So, I’m going to say that for me, someone with very sparse brows and flimsy lashes, lash and brow serums have made a huge difference in how brow and lash makeup products apply.”
